Cas(e) This Sketch 120

I made this card today for Cas(e) This Sketch whose inspiration looked like this,
really cute.

I used a kraft card base and white watercolour paper.  I started with a random blue watercolour from my art supply and used the Tim Holtz stencil to make a splash.  Then I added a sentiment. I die cut the bird and coloured in with my Spectrum Noir pens.  I found some gold cotton in my sewing box and stuck that to my card and mounted the bird on top.  Finished with some sequins.  Was pleased with the result!

Tag You're It Challenge

Here is the inspiration for Tag You're It.

I think I may have gone too Clean and Simple this time LOL

I used a pale blue background for the tag and die cut a  tree, leaves and bird.
I added a black background to my sentiment to pull it together.

I was inspired by the white plants on the coloured background.  I still have a limited amount of products and don't have lots of flowers, so used what I had available.

Retro Sketch

Today I made a card for Retro Sketch!  Here is their layout

Such a cute sketch, I don't have a speech bubble die so I cut it out with, wait for it ..... scissors!
The paper already had Hello all over in different colours.  I love the orange paper and thought it went well.  Then I added my little bird die cut with stamp and some sequins. I thought it needed something more so I added the twine and button over the speech bubble. Very pleased with how it came out.

Products Used
Paper from Maggie Holmes 6 x 6 paper pad
Bird from Sizzix Bird and Tree stamp and die set
Button, twine and sequins from stash

Daring Cardmakers Challenge ARROW

The Challenge is Green pointy and Arrow-y, I love Arrow and had to enter this challenge.

daringcardmakers.BlogSpot

I first covered the card in the green paper, then added a black edge on the left hand side with my hand drawn arrows.  (I have no dies or stamps of arrows.... yet!).  I decided the back ground should be a bit messy as it's quite a dark series, so I added ink blots and cup marks.  I used a city scape clear rubber stamp and glasses (for Felicity).  Three stripes of paper with the ends torn some enamel dew drops and a few pink sequins (again for Felicity, who is Geeky and Glamorous!).  Like the result but have no idea who I could send this one too LOL

Products used

Paper from Maggie Holmes 6 x 6 paper pad.  Ranger Jet Black Archival ink.  Tim Holtz Splatters stencil.  Glasses clear stamp was from The Range.  Freckled Fawn enamel dew drop stickers.
The city scape was in stash and sequins also, no idea where they came from!

AAA Cards Challenge 37 Springtime

I made this card a couple of days ago, inspired by the colours of AAA Card inspirations photo.

Lovely pinks and greens.  I don't have a lot of flowers stamps or dies yet.  So I went with my new Gumball Machine die from Sizzix.  Brought in their Sale!

I added a few sequins and enamel hearts, also silver embossed on the machine.  I stamped my bird and coloured him in with spectrum noir pens.  Finally adding ribbon, a button and bakers twine.

This week I was inspired by the lovely pink, grey and white picture on The Card Concept

I recently received a new die set which I ordered from Sizzix 85%  off Sale, it had to be done!

Of course I had to use it immediately.  The card came together fast, which never usually happens.  I'm super pleased with it.  See what you think?

Sizzix Birds and Trees Framelits, used the heart die which was embossed in silver.

I made an easy shaker card, with some sparkly sequins.  I love the colours and am quite pleased with myself!!  I stamped the ladybird lots of times and coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens.  The shaker part was very easy as its nice and square!

Tag You're It Challenge #19

Today I made my first  tag for the Tag You're It Challenge.  I saw orange, blue, flowers, birds, white and leaves.
I decided to go with the orange, blue and flowers.  As I am quite new to card making I don't have lots of stamps and die cuts ... yet!

I cut some card and glued a blue wood effect paper on, then I used my sewing machine to stitch round the edge , I cut a strip of flowery paper and added a sentiment and some die cut hearts.   I added wink of stella to the hearts for a bit of glamour and Freckled Fawn enamel dew drops for a bit of jazz!

Here is the inspiration tag

CAS-UAL FRIDAY CHALLENGE APRIL 2015

The challenge was Twine, Kraft and flowers.  I thought I was going to find this tricky as I'm not a flowery sort of girl but then I found a die set of flowers, these came  with my Sizzix Big Shot.  I was inspired lol

I used card and envelope by Docraft Papermania Square blanks, which I brought at The Range

The Leaves were taken from a Christmas Sizzix Hero Arts set Ornaments #3

I used a Uniball Signo white pen to decorate the edges.

From my stash I used a small heart punch to thread the twine through, this makes the inside of the card look really neat and tidy!

The sentiment is on two dies from Docrafts Xcut large die set, Everyday Tag Set.  I use this all the time, love it.  Brought at The Range.

All the paper was from Happy Days Pebbles Paper which I brought from www.heylittlemagpie.com

Home Made Thank You Cards

Two more thank you cards.  These were inspired by the wonderful Kristina Werner, Friday Focus I like you just the way you are.  I recently watched this on You Tube and was inspired to use my embossing folder, which I previously didn't really know what project to use on.

On my second card I tried to match the tag with the background embossing, I forgot to do that on the first whoops!  I used some tiny dies to make holes in my cards so I could thread my ribbon through.
I used Sizzix embossing folder birds and banners set.
and used memento ink in Bahama Blue and Rich Cocoa for the sentiments.

Home Made Dragonfly Gift Tag

This is my first gift tag, its quite large.  I loved the idea of placing the dragonflies in between the acetate. I stuck three sequins on top of the acetate.  You have to make sure the images are large enough so you can stick them to the inside of the tags as you don't want to see the glue in the acetate window!

Dragonfly Gift Tag
I die cut a small round tag out of some off cut Maggie Holmes cratepaper and covered in glossy accents.  The Many Thanks was a die from Docraft X cut.  I'm very pleased with the way this worked out.

Retro Sketch 159

This is my first attempt at a challenge!  This was my main reason for starting my Blog.  I have made another Thank You card, I used my Papermania Textured Paper and my 6 x 6 paper pack Happy Days by Pebbles.  I used my white pen to make stitch marks around the paper, and added Freckled Fawn Enamel Dew Drops.

Thank You Card

I have just had my birthday and need to make some Thank You cards for all the kind people who sent me presents.  Here is the first.

I was very lucky to receive an envelope maker for my birthday (We R Memory Keepers Envelope punch board) from my boys, and here is one of the first attempts.  I love it and think I will get lots of use from it.  The card for the envelope was from The Works.

I used paper from 6 x 6 paper pad Happy Day by Pebbles, and Avery Elle die cut Alphas.  The plain green card was Papermania Textured Cardstock.

Hey Little Magpie Order

Last week I received my order from Hey Little Magpie, two 6 x 6 paper pads, Happy Day and Fancy Pants Everyday Circus.  I also purchased Freckled Fawn enamel dew drop stickers which I love.  I've never had enamel stickers before and love the look of them.
My plan is to make as many cards as I can using them.  Then next month I will order something else!!  Great plan, almost guilt free shopping.

Very First Post!

Hi, Welcome to my very first post.  I am going to be posting my efforts at card and gift tag making.  I only started making my own cards last Christmas and really enjoyed it.  At least once a month I am going to purchase some new paper or stamps or dies to add to my growing collection, and then I'm going to try to make some cards.  I really would like to join in with the card challenges I see on line.

Here is a card I made for a friends 50th Birthday Party that I'm unable to attend.  It's a small card made using Fancy Pants Everyday Circus 6 x 6 pad, and Freckled Fawn enamel dew drop stickers. Purchased from an on line store Hey Little Magpie.  I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz distress pad.  My birthday is very soon and I have asked for a envelope maker, I will attempt to make a matching envelope.  Watch this space!
